plans interrupted

once upon a time, there was a family, a very happy family. they had experienced a miracle. they were moving into a single family home in AK with a beautiful mountain view, with green grass, complete with a swing set. the mommy was even allowed to paint the bedrooms whatever color she chose in the new dwelling place. and, the rent savings would be substantial, to boot. it couldn’t have been more blissful for this family of four. it was “painting day”.
but alas, the family arose from the bed, pulled through mickey d’s for some breakfast burritos and headed to the local walmart for painting supplies. little did they know that for some irrational reason, 2 year old daughter did NOT like the plan. she kicked, she screamed, she even banged her head on the cart. she didn’t like to ride the buggy, didn’t like to walk, didn’t like to be carried. nothing could make this little girl happy. the only thing that saved the poor family from ruin was the dad, who said, “this child MUST be put to bed, right away, straight to bed.” so the family took her home, tucked her sleepy tiny frame into bed, and proceeded with their day, NOT according to plan. new things were added to the day’s activities: the studded tires were changed off the cars, the kitchen all cleaned, a picnic lunch packed. after 3 hours, the little girl woke, all warm and sweet, ready to go to the new house. somehow the mommy didn’t pack quite enough Cheeto’s though.
the little girl was still not happy. no grapes, no PB and honey, no M&M’s could calm the poor dear. she even tried to hit the camera whilst her mom was documenting the day.
somehow the family survived, ever smiling and laughing, when the day was done, the kids all bathed, and prayers were said.

the moral of the story: never say, “I’ll never let my kids control me like that!”

Now…… don’t you talk bad about Grandma Doris and Grandfather Arie’s little angel girl. Look how nice she is painting the wall for you!!!!!! There is as much difference in her and big sister, as night and day, isn’t it? Be glad they are not both head strong. Smile! Hope we can get up to see you before the year is out. Love, GM Doris

You said it, GM Doris!!!! Our precious little great granddaughters are
joys for all of us. I enjoy hearing about every little thing they do and
I know you do too. You would enjoy going to see them in Alaska.
I’m so glad Ginger plans to go next week. Kristy and Mike, we love the
pictures. Abby and Lilly are precious ones with good parents.
