well, duh, mom!

we got to church (early for once, i might add) this morning. as i was helping abby out i said, “I wonder what you’ll learn about in your class today?” In as big a girl voice and adolescent sounding as a 5.5 year old who’s just been registered for kindergarten can muster she says, “well mom, probably God or Jesus, don’t ya think?”

obviously not before i ask questions

lilly says a lot, too, but i have a hard time figuring out how to type most of it. it seems she has developed her own little language but we’re starting to get the hang of it. and we’ve taken away the paci except in bed. most of the time it’s going great, unless she remembers that something is missing. oh, and the redness all around her mouth from licking her lips instead of paci i guess. but here’s a “she said” lilly version for you too.

tonight after dinner and in the bath tub she mostly said, “WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! I ONT MY PAPPI, I ONT PAPPI, I ONT PAPPI!” in as loud a voice as a 26 pound child can, and it can register some decibels, it can, oh, can’t it. we withstood about 25 minutes of it which seemed more like 5 hours. i’m sure our duplex neighbors thought something much worse was happening than 2 parents looking at a crying child and remaining calm while ignoring and going about business as usual.

(”ont” means want) (”pappi” means pacifier)
