getting knitty

i was reading a magazine article about blogs lately. it said that most blogs would only interest the blogger’s mother. at first it kinda made me think, “gee, what’s the point of doing this.” then i realized that our last 2 years are somewhat chronicled on a blog so who cares. mom, if you’re reading, i’m glad!

i’ve been knitting up a storm lately. really i’ve been knitting up some springtime. it is so nice out right now. just gorgeous weather. no need for hats and mittens and boots. well, boots are handy for the mud after a winter of snow and ice. but not mega boots, just rain boots or crocs. we’re still waiting for everything to melt and the green grass and flowers. none of that yet. days are long again though. it’s now getting dark between 10 and 11 pm so that is nice. sometimes it seems gradual and sometimes it seems like a sudden difference.

here’s a baby girl hat for a friend from ladies’ bible study. i know it’s kinda funky, but so am i.

and a baby girl bib for a friend at MOPS. another mason dixon knitting pattern. it is by far my favorite knitting book and believe me, i’ve checked out a million from the library.

happy spring!

Nannaws read blogs too. This one does, even
checks it at least 3 times a day. If you were
here I’d teach you to crochet and you could
teach me to knit. I like what you’re doing.
Tell Abby and Lilly I’ll go to the mail box again
tomorrow. Nothing from them yet, but it takes
several days. It’ll make my birthday last longer.
It’s been several days already. Ginger can tell
you about it when she goes to see you.
Wish all of you were HOME IN ARKANSAS OR
    AT LEAST NEIGHBORING STATES.
LOVE TO ALL OF YOU, NANNAW AUSTIN

I read it too. Am disappointed when I check it, and you’ve not written anything new. Tell Abby and Lilly I’m going to send them a little box soon. Waiting for one more thing. Love, Grandma Doris

I think the one on top looks like a great headband for Mike to wear jogging. The tassles would be especially northern exposure-ish.
